Auto Dealership – West Bridgewater, MA

Greg Driscoll was the lead engineer for this 57,000 square foot auto dealership project for a major automaker and prominent local dealer group.  The project included many design challenges due to wetland resource areas and the site’s history as a borrow pit.  The project also included coordination with MassDOT to improve visibility to the abutting Route 24.  Lack of town sewer also necessitated the design of a septic system, an extensive soil evaluation study and the design of a non-hazardous industrial wastewater holding tank for vehicle wash water and mechanic wash sinks.  Low impact development (LID) measures included the design of a constructed stormwater wetland that accepted runoff directly from paved areas through a vegetated filter strip.  Incorporating underground stormwater detention systems under customer and inventory parking areas solved other stormwater challenges.
