Little League Complex – Weston, MA

Greg Driscoll was the lead design engineer and provided construction period services for this baseball field complex in Weston, MA.  The project consisted of 3 regulation sized little league fields and 2 softball fields, batting cage areas, a half-court basketball court, a concessions building, the extension of an existing walking path, and new paved parking area and gravel overflow parking area.  The site posed many conservation challenges as it abutted a pond that was designated as an Outstanding Resource Water (ORW) since it was tributary to the City of Cambridge surface water supply.  Many Low Impact Design (LID) elements were worked into the design of the stormwater management system including bio-retention systems, vegetated swales and a level spreader outlet device.  Additionally the project included an underground stormwater recharge system placed under one of the fields, maximizing the useful area of the site.
